Simplex-Turbulo’s new dry dock representation in the Black Sea

Some 2,500 ships currently operate in the Black Sea and this area is becoming an increasingly active and interesting location within the marine world. Simplex-Turbulo has won the agency for one of the largest and most impressive dry docks located there, Santierul Naval Constanta SA.

This yard is accessible both by sea through the Bosphorus Strait and by river through the Danube-Black Sea Channel. Repairs can be undertaken for vessels up to 200,000dwt. Within the Black Sea, Santierul Naval Constanta is the only facility with the capacity to take on suezmax and capesize vessels. The yard also has considerable experience and expertise in shipbuilding and special projects such as conversions, major damage repairs and offshore related projects.

The yard has high standards, complying with IACS requirements, and using almost exclusively European suppliers for its equipment and components.

Both dry docks can be divided by means of an intermediary gate in order to accommodate two small to medium-sized vessels simultaneously, thus allowing an even greater capacity.

Simplex-Turbulo also represents three other dry docks, Jurong (Singapore), Astander (Northern Spain) and Fujian Huadong (China).
